Primeros años de vida

Vanessa Anne Hudgens nació en Salinas, California y creció en San Diego; ella tiene una hermana más joven, Stella Hudgens. Su padre, Greg Hudgens es de descendencia irlandesa, nativo americana y su madre Gina Guangco, nació en las Filipinas aunque tiene descendencia china y española. Todos sus abuelos eran músicos durante el período del "Big band". Hudgens terminó de filmar High School Musical 2 el 13 de abril de 2007 en Salt Lake City, Utah. La película se esterenará el 17 de agosto de 2007 en Disney Channel. También, Hudgens será la nueva cara de Neutrogena este 2007.

Su nombre completo es Zachary David Alexander Efron. Nació un domingo 18 de Octubre de 1987 en San Luis Obispo, California y creció en Arroyo Grande.
Sus padres se llaman David Efron (ingeniero eléctrico) y Starla Baskett, una secretaria anterior. Tiene un hermano pequeño llamado Dylan.

Desde pequeño ya mostraba actitudes para el canto y la actuación. A la edad de once años, sus padres lo integraron a clases de canto. De igual, manera le ayudaron para que participara en el musical Gypsi (gitano) donde realizó 90 actuaciones, luego consiguió tener los papeles en las producciones teatrales de Peter Pan, Little Shop of Horrors (Pequeña Tienda de Horrores) y The Music Man (El Hombre Músico).

En el 2002, comenzó su participación en series de televisión, fue invitado a formar parte de Firefly (Luciérnaga), ER, y The Guardian (El Guardián).

Asi también actuó en la serie ya cancelada de Warner Brothers "Summerland", realizando el papel de Cameron Bale. Originalmente participó como un invitado estrella, pero después se volvió un miembro regular en el show en la segunda temporada realizada en el 2004.

Fue invitado además en los shows de CSI Miami, NCIS( Naval Criminal Investigative service), y en Zack y Cody: Gemelos en acción.

En cuanto a películas para televisión, en el 2003 protagonizó a Steven Morgan, un gemelo autista, en el filme Miracle Run. Por su actuación, fue nominado para un Young Artist Award por la Actuación más Buena en una Película de la Televisión, Miniserie o Especial.

Otras películas en las que también ha participado son: "The Big Wide World of Carl Laemke", "Triple Play" y "The Derby Stallion", donde interpreta a Patrick McCardle.

El 2006 ha sido excelente para Zac, ya que se ha convertido en unos de los actores adolescente más famosos por su papel protágonico en la película musical de Disney Channel " High School Musical", donde le da vida a Troy Bolton, un excelente jugador de balocesto pero también un cantante increíble. En la película comparte créditos con Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel y Corbin Bleu. HSM fue probablemente el mayor éxito de Zac.

Se dice que participará también en la secuela de HSM (High School Musical 2) con el mismo papel que le dieron en la primera película. Ésta se realizará en el 2007 o a fines del 2006, cuando termine de grabar "hairspray", en la que hará el papel del guapo adolescente Link Larkin, y donde actuara al lado de Amanda Bines, John Travolta y Queen Latifah.

Música

De la película HSM se sacó un soundtrack, material con el cual Zac se convirtio en el primer artista en debutar en el Billboard Hot 100 con dos temas en la misma semana, el 4 de febrero de 2006 con las canciones Get'cha head in the game y Breaking Free(a dúo con Vanessa).

En la semana siguiente, cinco de sus canciones formaban ya parte del ranking, entre ellas las anteriormente mencionadas además de Start of Something New, What I've been looking for (Repise) y la canción final We are all in this together.

Breaking Free hizo el ascenso mas rápido en la historia de los Billboard, subiendo desde el puesto #86 al #4, en dos semanas.

Zac es un chico al que le gusta mantenerse en forma, es muy guapo e inquieto, fue elegido capitán del equipo rojo en los Disney Channel Games, con Kay Panabaker, Shin Koyamada, Anneliese van der Pol, Moises Arias y Dylan Sprouse.
